Did you ever notice that when people speak of the American Idea and they mention Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, they usually leave out Equality?

They don't even think of it. And yet, Equality is the one that gives the unique and very real American meaning to the other three. Taken as it was written in the Declaration, Equality eliminates class, status, social rank of birth, royalty, nobility and aristocracy. And Slavery.

Because you cannot have those classes if you have Equality. It's one or the other.
