How Our Adjudicators of Law Have Made Themselves Into Our Makers Of Law

The difference between the American makers-of-law and the American adjudicators-of-law is that the former are political and representative of the voters, and the later are apolitical and representative of no one. As it turns out, that's only true on paper, proving once again that paper will stand still for anything. Nevertheless, because of that difference, the elected and temporary legislative and executive branches of government make and enforce representative law, and the appointed and permanent judiciary adjudicates cases in that law, as legislated, quite literally, without opinion or personal interpretation or reinterpretation.

Of course, that ain't happening, and perhaps never was.
