The Anti-God Obsession describes the obsessive Need to believe that all systems are self-contained, self-explained and self-grounded.

Is reality - existence itself - all self grounded?

The "Big Bang" is now being disapproved by "scientists", because ... well, because it points to matter being created out of nothing, which points to an immaterial creator.

Can't have that.

Note that disapproved is not disproved. It is simply out of favor. Secularized science today is obsessed with the notion of self-grounded existence. It is an obsession, and this obsession is the reason I consider "scientific" atheism to be a mental illness.
