An epiphany is a sudden insight or recognition of a manifestation, or a revelation of a new manifestation that is understood.

The first epiphany in Christianity was the appearance of the Magi in Bethlehem with their three prophetic gifts for the Christ Child. The second epiphany was the Baptism of our Lord, in which the Holy Ghost alighted in the form of a dove, and the voice from above pronounced Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, and the third was the miracle of the wedding feast at Cana.
