I wear a large bronze crucifix modeled after the crozier of John Paul the Great. It shows more the suffering of Christ than the glory of His sacrifice. It is a constant reminder of the horror of crucifixion, and of just what He willingly went through for us. Roman crucifixion was done in the most painful way possible without killing the victim, so that the birds could begin feeding on the victim before he was dead.
