On May 31, 1968, my Marcie and I were married at st. Ephram's Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan. That was back when holidays were actually on the assigned days, rather than the first Monday after a weekend, so it was actually Memorial Day, 1968. So this will be our 55th anniversary, on the 31st. It's always a bitter-sweet remembrance; bitter for the remembrance of those who gave all, sweet for another blessed year of our marriage. We, and you, have been so blessed with liberty that we too often take it for granted, as if it is something that always was and always will be. But it isn't just "there". It had a beginning. It will have an end.
