The savage Memphis police beat-down murder of Tyre Nichols and the aftermath got me thinking about this again. There are many paths to the centralization of power and the loss of liberty, and this murder highlights several of them. First, there are the race lies, who's purpose for being originated in the "There oughta be a law!" thinking that comes to mind every time an event appears (or is hyped) to be racist.
