We can't say enough about the VA. Some years ago now I had cataract surgery at the Dayton VA hospital. It was done with only the local anesthetic eye-drops and nothing else, because I worry more about general anesthetics and drugs than I do about surgery. There was no pain; discomfort, yes, but no pain. I really wanted to blink, but there were some kind of clamps holding my eyelids open, which was a good thing. All I had to do was lie still and the doctor did the rest. I had to go through it twice, because they wouldn't do both eyes at the same time.
