Government by Subjective Opinion Poll, and Science by Court Settlement

Can any real objective truth be found through subjective and democratic surveys, poll-testing, focus-groups, popularity polls or even legal court-cases?

Complicit Clergy is a website for Catholic Trads like me. It is in the business of finding and bringing the dirty doings of the wayward Catholic clergy up into the bright light of truth where everyone can see it for what it is. This week one of the stories they highlighted was a Crisis Magazine piece by Eric Sammons describing a "Research Survey" commissioned by the Diocese of Brentwood, England, ostensibly to find out why fallen-away Catholics fell away, and how to bring them back to the Catholic way.

It was another case of effete self-proclaimed elite expertise taking another flying leap off of another cliff at another wrong conclusion.
