It is the nature of the Revolutionary Mindset to oppose the status quo.

What happens when the Revolution itself becomes the status quo?

We seem to be seeing that happen. In the American Marxocrat Party the "Revolutionaries" are practically eating each other. The Old Guard ideological Marxists who have been running the Party (which is to say the Revolution) against the American Constitution and the American Status Quo, are now being revolted against by the new enfant terrible revolutionaries who view the Old Guard as just another part of the establishment, and thus, the enemy.
