Does Scripture ban war, forbid division, invite unlimited unity, and thereby deny the existence of evil?

What got me thinking along these lines, once again, was the Sunday Novus-Ordo Mass readings, particularly the Gospel, which was Matt 5:17-37, and within that, verses 21-26.
