The minute man turned away from the One God Profundity he went off the rails. He stopped living by the One Important Principle by which he could keep his sanity in this world, and obtain life in the next.

Once that principle is lost, cognition gives way to feelings, and man begins to be guided by himself, rather than by God. This is Satan's work. The urge to be one's own man. 'I did it my way' sang Sinatra.
