I was born February 1948. My dad was the radio man for the Battle of Saipan and the occupancy for about a year. In 1954 he went to work at Chance Vought making the F-8 Crusader fighter for the Navy and Marines where he met Captain John Glenn. In 1960 he went to work for Martin, in Watertown Canyon, CO. Building the the ICBM ATLAS missile to carry a nuclear warhead. It was pressed into service for NASA, which was all about intimidation of the soviets.
