Subscribers NewsletterWhen you system slows down or hangs, it's time for a Total System Reboot.America, the World, and even the Catholic Church may need a Total System Reboot.Vic Biorseth, Thursday, May 29, 2014 Because I drive for a living, I have to use hands-free methods of communication. I can't be fooling around with cell phones in traffic. So, I establish a "Blue-Tooth" connection between my phone and my GPS every time I get in the car. And that's many times a day, because I get in and out of the car to make pickups and deliveries, and every time I leave the car I shut off the GPS and take it with me. Once in awhile, perhaps because the cache is full or something, the Blue-Tooth link will not properly establish itself. When that happens, I take the phone out of my pocket and reboot it. Voila! The connection is reestablished, and I can talk hands-free through the GPS again. It's the same with this computer. When it stars slowing down or seems to be chocking, and I recognize it, I save all work, run a virus/malware scan, run a disk-cleanup, and reboot the system. When it comes back up, it's running appropriately, and I continue with my work.
