But that all changed after I started going there for medical care. Most of my post-service life I didn't even know I was qualified for VA care and never received it. Somehow I got the idea in my head that you had to have put in your twenty years and retired from the military, or to have been somehow disabled in action to qualify. Not so. If you served honorably, you qualify. Just present your DD214 and go through the process, and you're in.
