Fasttrack Fairtax through legitimate representative legislation.

Fasttrack FairTax: The main holdup of passing the FairTax involves the need to repeal the 16th Amendment first; else the FairTax would just become another tax added to the giant pantheon of taxes already imposed upon us, and it would accomplish nothing. We cannot legally or Constitutionally outlaw a provision of the Constitution, so we cannot simply legislate a new law to outlaw the income tax. However, we can legislate to stop collecting the income tax. Here is the 16th Amendment wording:

Amendment XVI:

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

But – is repeal necessary to simply stop collecting the income tax?

I don’t think so. Read it again. Congress changes tax rates, tables, factors and computations all the time. Congress can increase income tax, and Congress can reduce income tax. They already do it multiple times per year. There is no reason whatsoever that Congress cannot reduce income tax to zero for a period of time, without violating the 16th Amendment. This could put the whole process on a faster track.

The wording of HR 25 S 296 (or a new partner bill) should include wording that stops all forms of federal taxation upon implementation of the FairTax method of federal taxation. What it needs to do:

1. Reduce income tax rate to zero for everyone.
2. Implement FairTax.
3. Outlaw all forms of federal tax other than income tax and FairTax.
4. This law sunsets (expires) every two years unless re-activated by Congress.

I urge you to go and read the FairTax page if you haven’t done so. So much damage has been done to our economy that FairTax may be the only possible route out of economic disaster. For one thing, it would buy us time to work on all the major spending problems we have, for it would, immediately fully fund everything on into the foreseeable future.

That includes Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and everything else, until America goes out of existence, or the second coming of Christ, whichever comes first.

While I still believe, as I have said elsewhere in this site, that such things as Social Security and other entitlements should be killed, if FairTax passed, at least these programs would no longer pose such a dramatic, emergency, economic threat staring us in the face.

The longer Obamunism rules here, the more we need to fasttrack FairTax.

FairTax could put the American economy on the fast track.
