Our Corrupted Catholic Culture

Wayward bishops and docile (if not complicit) journalists corrupted Catholic culture. Evil grew as a leaven in the clergy and corrupted Catholic culture from within.
So what corrupted so many princes of the Church, and how? Some of them probably were corrupt men from the beginning, hiding beneath a false facade of holiness. Some of them were corrupted by outside forces; see the Smoke of Satan, and Lucifer and the CCHD, and The Catholic Communizer Dorothy Day for some clues into how "outside" or "secular" culture influenced American Catholic clergy for the worse.
It's supposed to be the other way round. After Mass, we are sent forth to "glorify the Lord by your life," or, to "announce the Gospel of the Lord." Thus, we are supposed to be a leaven in the larger secular society. We are supposed to engage culture and modify it, or have our positive effect on it. We are not supposed to allow outside culture to modify us, and thereby modify our faith, our doctrines, our theology, our liturgy, our recognition of sin, our proper sense of right versus wrong, or even the way we live our lives.
But that is what has happened, and is happening. With bishops leading the way. With Catholic "journalists" just going along with it, and not reporting it.
Why?
I believe there are two major contributing factors.
First, in America, there is an unusual political, as opposed to religious, sense of religious ecumenism, which is absolutely unique to America, and that always threatens to pull the inattentive Catholic into the sin (and heresy) of Indifferentism, if they are not very careful. (More on that later.)
Second, there is the continually advancing hidden agenda of Marxism, traveling under many, many disguises, fooling even the best among us, fooling the most highly educated most of all. It has even crept into the clergy. "Capital" is demonized in most minds today, despite the fact that Capital = disposable income = profit = wealth = a penny saved = private property. The real Marxist drive is to eliminate private property, but almost nobody sees that. Redistribution of private property is promoted and even championed by many clergymen under the missguided and missguiding titles of Fairness and Social Justice. Some of them really believe they are doing something good.
What prompted these thoughts was a real eye-opener of a video presentation by Michael Voris of CurchMilitant.com on how American Catholic bishops tried, and are trying, to destroy him, personally, and his business, and shut down his ability to speak to any audience, and to silence his message, because - get this - he speaks the Whole Truth. Let me give you the whole two-hour video presentation right here, in two separate one-hour sessions:
Believe me, if you love the Church, it's worth the time to watch these two videos.
All of this had a horribly familiar ring to it. A long time ago, seemingly in another life, I coined the term SLIMC1 specifically to address the overarching control of predominantly Marxist ideologues over virtually all of the secular news media, entertainment, education and even government, of all things. Ideologues opposed to our national foundation, opposed even to our Constitution, were making un-Constitutional rules for us regarding our speech and our public conversation.
So, has the SLIMC1 now entered the Catholic Church in America, too?
Apparently so.
We have addressed this problem in American secular culture quite heavily, mostly among The Mainstream Media Pages under that title in the right column of this and all other pages herein. We now have an alternative media growing, and, with talk radio in the lead and the internet close behind, the stars of alternative media seem to grow brighter and brighter the more the establishment media tries to shut them down. Note the rise, the longevity, the popular support and the growing audiences of the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. The more they are demonized by the Left, the stronger they seem to get.
God bless 'em.
Michael Voris now appears to be the the Lone Ranger in what we now must recognize as the alternative Catholic media. No one else is reporting on this stuff.
Why?
"Say it ain't so, Joe!" was the legendary emotional request of a broken-hearted boy, to Shoeless Joe Jackson, who was leaving a 1920 courthouse after the procedings on cheating in the 1919 World Series. That expresses how I felt after watching these two video presentations.
"Say it ain't so, Raymond!" is what I want to say to Raymond Orroyo. Now, Raymond Orroyo was accused of nothing by Michael Voris; I am not quoting anyone else here. But when I think of Catholic journalists, that's really the first name that immediately pops into my mind. If Raymond Orroyo is a true journalist, then, why has he not reported on any of this? Is that not the job of the journalist? What has he said, and what has he not said, about Michael Voris in his journalism? If Michael Voris is taboo, should it not be reported that Michael Voris is taboo, and who made him taboo, and why, and where the evidence is that makes him taboo?
What about all absolutely scandalous and shocking programs and behaviors of American bishops and priests that Michael is talking about? Is that not news? Is none of all of that even the least bit newsworthy?
Are Catholic journalists paid to lie, like their secular counterparts?
Is that what they do for a living?
In the Professional Liars of Journalism we talked about the many years of flagrant categorical lies reported as news in the mainstream media, by all the media stars of TV and printed news. Every big name you ever heard of. Some of them, such as Cronkite, Rather and others, carried their lies to the level of treason against America, as I saw it. Jane Fonda and John Kerry committed actual treason; Cronkite and his adoring retinue of lesser journalists committed a different sort of anti-American subterfuge, infecting the news with propaganda to support Marxist causes against America. Flagrant lies, repeated by every single one of them, over and over again, over years and years, until they had young people rioting in the streets, broke a President and a Presidency and induced a Congress to deliberately cut off funding of American troops in harm's way.
For pay.
It's gotten worse since then. But I didn't really think it massively infected the Catholic media, except for Marxist rags like the National Catholic Reporter.
American Political Ecumenism may have played an important role here. America is unique among modern nations in that she was and is a Christian nation. Her first Colonists were Puritans and other Protestants who came here to escape religious persecution of the English government and the Church of England, and to be free to worship God as they pleased. Each of the original thirteen Colonies were established as various Christian denominational theocratic Colonies, with one Catholic Colony among them. Long before the Revolution, Americans were tolerating each other's various denominational rites and forms of worship; freedom of worship was, after all, the very reason they were all here.
After the American Revolution and the adoption of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, freedom of religion was established in the highest law, in the Constitution itself. The government could not direct anyone's worship.
So, there was a new form of ecumenism afoot here, because the Presbyterian candidate for office had to convince his Baptist and his Lutheran constituents that they should vote for him, and not his opponent. America learned a new kind of diplomatic language, bound up in our common Judeo-Christian Ethos, in which men of various Christian denomination could find common ground, and even pray together, without violating the doctrines and rules of their respective religions.
This is an ecumenism of, primarily, morality, which all Christians and all Jews share in common. Theology may differ mightily, except for belief in the same one and only God Almighty. But they all shared the same common sense of right versus wrong, born of the Old and the New Testaments.
In American political contests, it is always good to keep our religious perspective, which is a very easy thing to lose track of.
[3] For
though we live in the world we are not carrying on a worldly war,
[4] for the weapons of our
warfare are not worldly but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
[5] We destroy arguments and
every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to
obey Christ, --2 Cor 10:3-5
We must never forget that our most important goal is not of the world.
Protestant Ecumenism is a different animal altogether. Now there may be various denominational interpretations of ecumenism that differ from this, but general over-all Protestant ecumenism involves a striving toward an eventual general agreement on all theological and doctrinal principles. Most of the older established denominations are so resistant to that very idea that if it is ever accomplished at all it will certainly not be any time soon. It would wind up with a negotiated I'm OK - you're OK, everybody's OK religion. Negotiated compromise to accommodate the most viewpoints.
What's wrong with that? Well -
[3] But I am
afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be
led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
[4] For if some one comes and
preaches another Jesus than the one we preached, or if you receive a different
spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the
one you accepted, you submit to it readily enough. –2 Cor 11:3-4
Catholic Ecumenism, as I understand it, involves the ongoing effort to get everyone into the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church that we proclaim every time we profess the Credo, which is at the very least every time we participate in Eucharist. The effort concentrates on reason and education, or catechesis, accompanied by apologetics and open dialogue.
Any form of ecumenism that seeks to incorporate any new religious teaching into the Catholic faith is a sinful activity. The Catholic faith may not change. Nothing may be added, nothing may be detracted, and nothing may be changed.
That's why we cannot participate in non-Catholic religious rites or services; no altar-calls, no sharing of the bread and wine, none of that. We profess one Christ, and one Church, which He founded, and we recognize no other. We say it in the Creed; we are supposed to mean what we say; what we say is supposed to be true. That's why non-Catholics are not wise to receive Catholic Eucharist, for in so doing, they eat their own judgment upon themselves.
[23] For I
received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the
night when he was betrayed took bread,
[24] and when he had given
thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this
in remembrance of me."
[25] In the same way also the
cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do
this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
[26] For as often as you eat
this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
[27] Whoever, therefore, eats
the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of
profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
[28] Let a man examine himself,
and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
[29] For any one who eats and
drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. –1
Cor 11:23-29
What has been shown in the two video presentations above is that many American bishops and priests have succumbed to Political Ecumenism in their very foundational Catholic faith. How else could we explain any bishop blessing homosexuality, or actually being an active homosexual? Neither Protestantism nor Protestant Ecumenism ever preached or taught or blessed that. It was a purely worldly political opinion, with some dressing up by pseudo-science, or scientism, like Freudianism. Same thing with issues of abortion, contraception, various sexual sins, let alone all the favorites of the Marxists, meaning Social Justice and all that crap.
How, in good conscience, could any Catholic bishop bless any of this?
Here's what you need to know: Michael Voris is an absolutely orthodox Roman Catholic who has said or done nothing wrong, in Catholic teaching, or in American teaching. He is being purposely denied access to audiences and to means of getting the Catholic message out in an absolutely Catholic way, and in an absolutely American way, and there is a reason for all of this. The "Establishment Catholic Media" is not reporting it; indeed, they are studiously avoiding it. They are censoring it.
Censoring and hiding the Truth is a distinctly un-Catholic and un-American thing to do. The Catholic laity are purposely being kept in the dark about all of this.

Paul VI was talking about the aftermath of Vatican II with the smoke of Satan comment. It was clear and obvious to any honest observer that all all of the experimentation with
- new forms of mass
- designs of churches
- accommodation of "new views" of old sins (contraception)
- a feminine priesthood
(And more) were all driving toward elimination
of all Catholic tradition. Michael Voris is a traditionalist. Our
Catholic bishops are not traditionalists. And neither are the journalists.

meaning. Here's another quote of his regarding the aftermath of Vatican
II:

Council. It is almost as if the
Church were attacking itself. We

I see this as a near carbon-copy of what's going on in the American government, with the advancement of Marxist-Progressivism since the Wilson administration. Every thing the Democrat Party stands for is either extra-Constitutional (outside the limited and enumerated powers of government) or flat-out un-Constitutional, and they have been advancing their anti-American agenda with the seeming cooperation of the Republican Party. Despite all of their sworn oaths of office, to preserve protect the Constitution. And a vast segment of the voting population has been mesmerized into believing this agenda is somehow good. America, too, appears to be destroying herself from within.

I've just run across the 3 days of darkness web site a few days ago and was going to ask your opinion of it and the Church Militant site. I hold your opinion very highly Mr. Vic. I now know what you think of Mr. Voris whose opinion I also hold highly but these are funny times and I was a bit suspicious. The three days site says that a group of freemasonic cardinals at the 1958 conclave usurped Cardinal Siris election for Paul vi who was a mason as was jpii and the V2 sect and Ratzinger. If this is true we have had anti-popes since 1958 and the last Cardinal installed by Pope Pius XII died in the late 90's leaving us nothing but cardinals that have been installed(know that's the right word) by anti-popes. This is really hard to believe...right, but it so much matches the 3rd secret from Sister Lucy et al that I really fear it's true...I have not seen Mikes videos yet...and for a while last week I thought that was were he was going to go, but then it looked as though he wasn't going that far...soooo if it is not a bother, and if it's not to much trouble...I would love to hear your opinion.

Church Militant TV is Michael Voris' website, and it is an excellent Catholic resource; I recommend it highly.
The notion that Paul VI, John Paul the Great and Benedict XVI were masons is just preposterous on its face.
The only "anti-popes" the Church has had have been during those times when more than one Pope claimed the title at the same time. Some Cardinals would break away from the rest and elect an anti-pope, or, some emperor would appoint one. The way that we know which one was authentically the Pope is by which one had a legitimate successor elected by the Church. Anti-popes died, and that was the end of it; real Popes died and the whole Church got together to elect a new one.
If all we have is anti-popes then we have no real Church, and Scripture is false, for it calls the Church "the pillar and bulwark of truth" in 1 Tim 3. After Jesus rose and before he ascended, he instructed His Church, as follows:
[18] And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
[19]
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
[20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."--Matt 28:18-20
Put your trust in Scripture before trusting any website or any person claiming to know when the end will come. Scripture, which cannot be broken, tells us otherwise.
[35] Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
[36] "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
[37] As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.
[38]
For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the
ark,
[39] and they did not know until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of man. --Matt 24:35-39
Thus, anyone who claims to know the day or the hour is a liar, or a fool.
Regarding Sr. Lucy and the 3rd Secret, this is all pertaining to private revelation, not public revelation. Remember, public revelation was closed with the death of the last Apostle of Christ. Nothing may be added to it, nothing may be detracted from it, and nothing in it may be changed. Private revelation is different. We are not even required to believe it; once it is approved by the Church, we are permitted to believe it, if we wish. But it is not and cannot be added to the public revelation, which is the sacred deposit of faith protected by the Church until He comes again. Nothing may be added.
It is best to keep your soul prepared to meet Him, whenever He comes. Keep your spiritual bags packed for the trip, and don't try to predict when it will come. And don't listen to those who claim to know. Only the Lord knows.
