Soon after this nation was born, it became apparent that the Presidency was in need of assistance in conducting affairs of state, most particularly foreign affairs and diplomacy.  The first "Department" authorized by Congress and approved by the President was the Department of Foreign Affairs, and President Washington appointed Thomas Jefferson to be the first Secretary of that Department.  Original responsibilities included minting coinage and conducting the census.  Eventually minting was moved to Treasury, and the census was moved into its own bureaucracy. 

(Today, under Obamunism, the American Census is fraudulently done by ACORN, SEIU workers, Alinksyite community organizers and others under the strict control of the Marxist Party.  (I mean Democrat.))

Today we know the Department of Foreign Affairs to be the Department of State, or State Department, or DOS.  It is supposed to be the structure for our diplomatic corps, and the central reporting point for all American ambassadors to other nations.  The Secretary of State, appointed by the President and approved by the Senate, is sworn in his oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and is responsible for upholding the President's foreign policy, everywhere, with consistency. 

In my not so humble opinion, that is all the Secretary of State should be doing.  If I may opine further, American foreign policy should be restricted to peaceful communication supporting lawful international trade and commerce, cooperating in international investigations, protecting American interests abroad, and providing security to foreign interests in America. 

Everything in DOS that is not required to fulfill those restricted policies should be eliminated from DOS.  In particular, the United Sates Marines provide security for US Ambassadors, Embassies and diplomatic stations.  There is no need for "extra" security forces under sole control of DOS.  FBI/CIA agents already operate from within US Embassies and diplomatic stations; there is no need for "extra" intelligence or criminal investigative agents under sole control of DOS.  The last thing America, or the world, needs is the growth of "shadow governments," whether at home or abroad, with hidden, secret agendas of their own. 

INR (Intelligence and Research) should be cut completely; there is nothing this group does that cannot be done better by CIA/FBI. 

S/CT (Counter Terrorism Coordinator) and Ambassador At Large should be cut completely.  This mission would be best handled by DOD coordinating military intelligence with CIA/FBI.

S/GAC (Global AIDS Coordinator) should be cut completely.  Infectuous AIDS was exposed as a hoax long ago, and no US treasure should be spent promoting, furthering or expanding this absolute open fraud, whether domestically or internationally. 

S/CRS (Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization) should be cut completely.  Foreign entities in need of "reconstruction" should use their own resouces first, before negotiating with a US Ambassador for any assistance. 

S/OCR (Director Office of Civil Rights) should be cut completely.  We have no proper business imposing our views on other peoples.  US Ambassadors should encourage and support, only, the same basic, fundamental civil rights foundational to America, which are:

  1. Equal treatment of all men before the same just law.
  2. Sanctity of human life.
  3. Liberty of the citizenry to find their own way in life.
  4. Citizen ability to prosper by their own industry, which means, when reduced to the simplest level, the right to own private property. 

All of which requires, first and foremost, encouragement and support of the sacred over the profane. 

Legislative Affairs should be cut completely.  Legislative affairs are the exclusive domain of the President and Congress. 

M/WHL (Office of White House Liaison) should be cut completely.  The President and the Secretary of State should be smart enough to converse with each other without any liaison between them. 

S/P (Policy Planning) should be cut completely.  DOS is supposed to implement the President's policy, not make it. 

Undersecretary for Democracy and Global Affairs responsibilities should be radically cut. 

  1. DRL (Democracy, Human Rights and Labor) should be eliminated altogether.  We have no Constitutional mandate or authorization to try to impose any popular social theories on foreign entities. 
  2. CES (Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs) should likewise be eliminated entirely.  The world has been damaged enough by the open fraud of Global Warming and other scientistic frauds.  
  3. PRM (Population, Refugees and Migration) should be cut back.  The so-called human population problem may be one of the oldest open frauds to ever gain government sponsorship under the protection of the Democrat Party. 

    All American embassies should be concerned about in this area is people legitimately applying for refugee status, legitimate immigration and visa applications. 

There is probably a lot more that can and should be cut, but this is a good starting point.  America needs to get back to living within the constraints and the rules of her own Constitution, which is to say, America needs to get back to being a nation of laws and not merely another nation of men. 

To than end, we need to get back to having Secretaries of State more akin to the model of the first one, Thomas Jefferson.  Alas, that will not occur until we have a President more akin to the first one, George Washington.  So long as we have a President who is, first and foremost, an Alinskyite Marxist radical who despises America, her history and everything she stands for, we will have Secretaries of State with similar views. 

His first appointed Secretary of State, Madam Hillary, was a fellow Alinskyite radical. 

Now, we have - John Kerry.  As Secretary of State.

John Kerry, who threw the medals he had awarded himself in the dirt. 

Who lied, enormously, in public hearings, slandering American servicemen and making them out to be rapists, plunderers and murderers, allowing Cronkite and the rest of the Marxist media to jump on those lies, magnify them to the limit and never let them go. 

Who illegally "negotiated" with the Viet Cong leadership in Paris while we were still at war with them. 

Who participated in a Communist organization vote on whether to begin assassinating US Senators immediately, or later.

I can't think of anything government does better than grow government!  And they are not reluctant to compensate themselves well as shown by the number of counties surrounding Washington DC that have the highest incomes in the nation!

Exactly.

It is trending thus as predicted, long ago.  In 1830s America, Tocqueville recognized that the exceptional greatness of America was rooted in citizen individual liberty, constrained only by the Christian "goodness" that permeated American society.  He spoke of two trends, which, if not controlled or stopped, would bode ill  for future America:

  1. The eventual meaninglessness and pointlessness of religion that would accompany the rise and spread of Unitarianism (loss of belief in the Trinity.)
  2. The dehumanizing perversion and moral depravity that would accompany the rise and spread of Illuminism (opposition to religion as superstition, and preeminence of scientism, accompanied by opposition to prejudice and support of gender equality.)

In those days all education was rooted in the home.  Home schooling meant, basically, a parental "kick-start" with the alphabet, elementary Three R's, the Bible, and children transitioning into self-education.  Older children taught the younger ones; once they could read and had mastered the most basic skills, they were almost on their own, becoming self-educated as their interests led them. 

Today, thanks to public education, and thanks to illuminati-controlled academe, the population is being systematically dumbed-down and morally depraved, and - this is the important one - more dependent, as opposed to independent.  Less exceptional.  Less excellent.  Less moral.  Less Christian. 

Therefore wealth, as well as power, migrates from the people to the new ruling class, which is the government, which still laughingly calls itself representative.  The government takes care of more and more of the people, who can no longer take care of themselves.  They have been moronified, and impoverished, and they are ever increasingly oblivious to what has happened and is happening to them, like dumb animals. 

But the professional politicians are all quite happy.

Shut down unneeded bureaucracy, for budget’s sake. In the name of fiscal sanity, we need to shut down unneeded bureaucracy.

Cut USDA budget, in whole or in part. Is agriculture the constitutional business of the federal government?

Department of Commerce: Cut DOC budget, with a meat axe. Argument to cut DOC; in times like these, no bureaucracy is sacred.

Dept of Defense: Budget cuts here need to be of the scalpel variety. Defense cuts need to be done very carefully lest we harm national security.

Cut the ED budget, in whole. Is education the constitutional business of the federal government?

Argument against Public Education, which is, in fact, Government Indoctrination. Public Education equals State Indoctrination, pure and simple. Education is beyond the scope of government and not what our government is constituted to do. 

Cut DOE budget, with a meat axe. Other than nuclear, how is any energy source the business of federal government?

Cut HHS budget, completely. How, exactly, is any Health and/or Human Services the Constitutional business of federal government?

Cut Social Security: Elimination of America’s Largest Budget Expenditure. How to Cut Social Security and begin the return to fiscal sanity.

Cut DHS budget, completely. Homeland Security is the proper domain of Defense, CIA and FBI. We should cut DHS completely.

Cut HUD budget, completely. How, exactly, is Housing or Urban Development the Constitutional business of federal government?

At this moment in time, most Constitutionalists would love to kill the IRS. How do you Kill the IRS? Fast-track and pass the Fair Tax. Very simple; nothing to it. 

Cut DOJ budget, with a paring knife, but, radically. We need to cut DOJ unnecessary and unrelated functions to streamline the function of justice.

Cut DOL, completely. The Dept of Labor has no Constitutional reason to exist. We should cut DOL, which, like organized labor itself, was born of Marx's Communist Manifesto.

Cut EPA, completely. EPA has no Constitutional reason to exist. How, exactly, are the environment or natural resources the Constitutional business of the Federal Government?

Cut DOS (State Departement) budget excess fat. Cut DOS unnecessary functions and get back to State business.

Cut DOI (Department Of Interior) with a meat axe. We can eliminate ninety percent of Interior bureaucracy when we cut DOI. 

Restoring our Treasury Department to its original purpose for being. On restoring our Treasury from Fascist Crony Capitalism, i.e., the Fed.

If we really need to cut spending, we should cut DOT with a meat axe. We should cut DOT and all these other bureaucracies that are regulating us to death.

Cut bureaucracy, but leave VA alone. In fact, we should build up the VA. In the aftermath of Marxocrat and Republicrat cuts to defense, both defense and the VA need new attention.
