Did the breakdown and loss of the Scientific-Method begin with Darwinism?
In the Evolutionary Trail of Modern Scientism, Marxism points back to Freudianism, and farther back to Darwinism. Was that where Modern Man initially took Science off the rails?

These thoughts were triggered by a conversation with a fellow devout Catholic who indicated that the current teaching of Darwinism might be demonic. And, I suppose, it may well be. If it wasn't initially inspired out of evil, it certainly appears to have been taken over by evil over time, and bent to evil purposes.
I have loved science since childhood; but what I love is real science, involving application of the Scientific Method and Scientific Empiricism. Science as predominantly practiced today is pretty much fraudulent science, or, Scientism. The "ism" on the end indicates that it is either an ideology, or a faith-based quasi-religion, based purely on belief and/or belonging to a consensus of belief. Group-think, in other words. There is nothing of material empiricism about it, and there is no real empirical evidence supporting it. It has not been proven, yet it is widely accepted, on supposedly "scientific" terms.
Most of what this modern Scientism points to these days are global calamities of one sort or another, all demanding of national or global government action to slow or stop the predicted calamity. Which shows a partnership with the murderous "ism" of Marxism, in which government, and government alone, saves man from himself, or from his foibles. Otherwise, man will go extinct, or life itself will end, or the world will end.
Climate Change. Population Problem. Limited Resources. "Unsustainable" life-styles. Clogged Landfills. (Question: how, exactly, does anything "clog" a landfill?) Globally calamitous air, water and soil pollution.
None of these things are empirically true. All of them are fraudulent. If they were not frauds in their initial conception, they were taken over by Marxists of some variety or other, and turned into frauds to serve the Marxist goal of growth of government and the limitation of citizen liberty, and to get more and more people to willingly, even joyfully go along with that movement. For the good of the planet.
Well, what can I say? The Marxism that took over all of these imagined-into-being global calamities, and then invented global government solutions for them all, is itself fraudulent. It's economic theory is disproven, the whole "redistribution" and "worldly utopia" concept is solidly disproven by a long history of economic failure, political brutality, war and even genocide. Yet, Marxism in its many variant forms, the most popular today being Socialism, is embraced today by millions if not billions, and is most especially favorably represented among the most highly educated. Go figure.
To grow into the ungodly global political power that it is today, Marxism incorporated into itself Freudianism, and especially Freudian Sexology, with which to attack and break down Western Civilization Morality. Religion, especially highly moral religion such as Judaeo-Christian religion, was attacked in a roundabout way by "scientifically" showing how immorality was "natural", therefore moral religion is weakened.
But before it could even get there, Marxism had to incorporate Social Darwinism into itself and "scientifically" argue that human culture and political arrangements "evolve" just like species.
And there, right there, is the crux of the issue.
The species do not evolve. The whole theory is false, and falsified.
The details of the falsification of Darwinism is shown in the Darwinism page, backed up among the Darwinism Pages, and the fact that the Scientific Method has never even ever been properly applied to it is shown in the Origin Of Species page.
Darwinism, like other "-isms" in Scientism itself, flies in the face of the Scientific Method, in that the Method insists that a hypothesis may be proved multiple times in multiple ways, but if it is ever disproved once, it is falsified. Evolution of species has been disproven multiple times, and never proven, even once. Yet it is accepted as "Scientific Theory", the second most lofty position any hypothesis can hold, just under a Scientific Law.
Why?
Scientism is, definitively, Science By Consensus, or Vote. Democratic Science. Head-bobbing, me-too, I wanna be in the club science.
Empiricism and the Scientific Method have nothing to do with it.
Marxist Science, in other words. Pointing the way to Global Government.
And yet, in the face of all of this, you would be hard put to show me the Priest, Minister or Rabbi who does not embrace some part of Darwinsim, and some part of Freudianism, and some part of Marxism.
And that should tell us laymen that they have abandoned some part of Judaeo-Christian faith in the Revealed Truth of God.
Real Science never conflicts with Natural Law or with Catholic Truth.
They always actually support each other.
To the chagrin of Evil.
The Catholic Church invented Science. All the first, and all the most famous Scientists in world history, were all Catholics, many if not most of them ordained Catholics.
Yet, here we are. Seminaries, too, are infected with Cultural Marxism.
Pray for a true Scientific Awakening within the Church.
