As a young soldier my first deployment was to West Germany during the Cold War. Kennedy was our President, and we all loved him. He came to West Berlin, and said "Ich bin ein Berliner", and the German people loved him too. He gave us a big raise; he got us new and upgraded equipment; he designated the Green Beret; he got recruitment to an all time high.
Because of him, it was a good time to be stationed in West Germany, despite the high state of readiness and constant threat of war. German citizens would often spontaneously pay for my beer or food whenever I was off duty out in public.
That was then and this is now.
There was one little niggling problem with Kennedy in the back of my mind. His answer to a question, when he was running for office, regarding if his Catholic faith would guide any decision he had to make as President, and he said "No". ??? Christian faith and morals are supposed to be behind every decision anyone ever makes, whether as President or as dishwasher. But, at the time, it was a little niggling question of little consequence, because I wasn't that good of a Catholic myself in those days.
But he was a President; that was different; that bothered me, a little. As President, he was supposed to be exemplary. He was supposed to set the example for the rest of us. In one of his speeches, he said this:
But let me stress again that these are my views. For contrary to common newspaper usage, I am not the Catholic candidate for president. I am the Democratic Party's candidate for president, who happens also to be a Catholic. I do not speak for my church on public matters, and the church does not speak for me.
Whatever issue may come before me as president — on birth control, divorce, censorship, gambling or any other subject — I will make my decision in accordance with these views, in accordance with what my conscience tells me to be the national interest, and without regard to outside religious pressures or dictates. And no power or threat of punishment could cause me to decide otherwise.
That was tantamount to opposing the living out of Christian faith.
No Protestant candidate would ever have to say anything like that, so why should a Catholic have to say them? The most famous Protestants at that time, Billy Graham and Norman Vincent Peal, were recruited to publicly oppose Kennedy's candidacy and they did just that, because they opposed Catholicism and supported hedonism, as Kennedy's named Protestant, atheist and hedonist favored political issues of "birth control, divorce, censorship, gambling or any other subject" indicated.
Pornography, if you'll remember, was being touted as an "art form" and protected by free speech and free press as "free expression". The Church opposed it then. Look where we are now. Pornography is the virtue, and censorship of pornography is the vice.
Not very Catholic, and not very Protestant of whatever denomination.
Was this the beginning of the political watering down/elimination of all formerly Christian American morality?
Today the Marxocrat Party (and much of the Republicrat Party) get all in a tizzy over the very thought of Catholic dogma; say the word dogma and they all tighten up. But Protestants have dogmas too, and nobody worries about them. Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide are example dogmas of Protestantism, heretical though they may be. You can't even be a Protestant if you don't embrace those heresies. Protestants even dare to declare themselves to be "saved" as if they were all the final judges of their own salvation. (See the Are You Saved? page.) But only Catholics were religiously shut out of high political office, until JFK, and even his own Catholicism had to be weak and practically denied in order for him to be elected.
The political policies of the day that persist to this very day regarding "Separation of Church and State" were and are based on a gross misinterpretation of the religion clause of the First Amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What that clause says is that the government
- cannot establish any national religion;
- cannot prohibit anyone from worshipping in the denomination of their choice.
And nothing else. The American government cannot dictate religion, nor can it discriminate against either Catholicism or any of the Protestant denominations. Two and only two prohibitions on government, not on citizens: establishment of official state denominations, and prohibition of worshipping in any of them. The state ordering of either religion, or anti-religion.
- It did not prohibit religious practice or prayer by government officials in official or unofficial capacities or in or around government facilities;
- It was not established to "free" citizens from Christianity by suppressing Christianity;
- It was not established to "free" Christians from Christian worship, theology or morality by suppressing Christianity;
- And it was talking about Christian religions, because this was a Christian nation.
Which was exactly why the Pilgrims left Europe and came to America: to get away from the religious persecution of Protestant kings after the Fracturing of Christianity brought on by the Protestant revolution.
At the same time the world was attacking Christian morality in the secular order, the world was attacking Christian theology in the ecclesial order. The two things are not isolated or separate movements; they are one and the same. This site has attacked, mostly, the Deep-State, perhaps because it is the easiest to see and therefore attack. But the systematic takeover/destruction of the whole ecclesial order, in the Catholic Church, Orthodoxy and the Protestant denominations alike, has not been as glaringly obvious and therefore easy to identify and attack.

MAGA-DOGE and Trump administration investigations into the deep political crime and corruption should not limit itself to the secular order, because clerics of all rankings have been involved in the same criminal activity as the bureaucrats and government officials involved in the American "death-by-illegal-migration" flood of drugs, sex slaves and the establishment of human organ farms.
That's the sort of thing the RICO law was created for, and that's the law that should be applied, including against foreign and domestic Catholic clerics who conspired to commit these horrendous crimes in America and throughout the world.
An American President may not have the power to dethrone a Pope or a Bishop, but he has the power to indict, prosecute, convict and imprison them.
Don't stop the American cleanup with the politicians, Mr. President.
