Fixing Health Care requires getting government out of it.
Get government out of it, require all health insurance to be owned by and benefits paid solely to patient-beneficiaries, and let the free market do the rest.

Happy New Year.
I don't know why my mind is so agitated every morning lately, and I wake up needing to write another webpage. Probably alarm, disgust and anger at what the government is doing to the Constitution, and to basic cultural morality, and at how many in the Church are actively participating in it. Look back through the latest What's New entries and you will see what's been bugging me lately. I can't help it. Everywhere I look I see more to be alarmed, disgusted and angry about.
Today it's health care, and health care insurance, and that means, of course, Obamacare, which is purposely aimed at harming if not destroying both.
Look closely at Article One Section Eight of the Constitution. That's where the powers of government are limited and enumerated. Do you see Medicine listed there, or Medical Insurance listed there? That's funny, neither do I. Well, Gee Whiz and Gosharooties, you don't suppose Obamacare might be unconstitutional right up front, do you?
This ain't the first time I've ranted about the government and the insurance industry taking control of medicine, something neither government nor insurance are qualified to even advise, let alone control.

As we've pointed out before, almost the whole unnatural cost problem in medicine is born of the Medical Billing Code System forced on Medicine by the Insurance Industry, and continuously controlled and updated by Medicare, a Government Agency.
Medical insurance company expenses and profits, and government bureaucracy costs, all, come out of the patient-doctor transaction, making it a much, much higher cost than it would otherwise be.
Once upon a time the doctor - patient transaction was very simple; only the doctor and the patient were involved. Now, one or more insurance companies are involved, and the government is involved, with the insurance company needing to pay its own expenses and make a profit, and the government stepping in to skim and control and just be a bureaucratic problem to deal with.
Now, an insurance agent, or more than one, and a petty bureaucrat, or more than one, stand between the Patient and the Doctor. And they get most of the money from the transaction. And they make the doctor, and sometimes the patient, jump through hoops just to complete what should be a very simple monetary transaction. Something quite simple is now made unnecessarily complex.
Expenses in medical offices are continually driven up by continually growing and changing Medical Billing Code requirements, requiring doctors to hire coding experts just to do billing, and keep track of rules guiding the doctors actual practice, as if insurance experts were actually qualified to do that. But the doctor's office needs to be paid, and these days, health insurance is almost the only payer of medical and pharmacological bills.
So doctors don't talk to patients so much any more. His Billing Expert talks to insurance companies. And to Medicare petty bureaucrats, since Medicare is the one insurance "company" that is in total, absolute control of the Medical Billing Code Racket. I mean System. Whatever new codes or changed code requirements Medicare comes up with, the whole health care industry follows suit immediately. Driving costs up, every time. Never simplifying; never reducing costs. Just piling on.
Getting rid of Obamacare.
This part is simple. All that's really required is a President, or a Congress, with the guts to do it. Declare the whole Obamacare law to be unconstitutional, null and no law from that date on. Buddabing, buddabang, buddaboom, no more Obamacare.
And they might consider impeachment for all members of Congress who voted for it, and all Supreme Court Justices who illegally modified it and approved it, for violating their oaths of office. Buddabing, buddabang, buddaboom, a whole lot fewer anti-Constitution people occupying high Constitutional office.
Getting Rid of Medical Codes in Health Care Billing.
This, too, would require a Congress and a President willing to do it. Legislate to require all existing and all new Health Care Insurance policies to be:
- Owned by the patient-beneficiary, not any employer or other party of any kind, including the government.
- With claims payable solely and exclussively to the Patient-Beneficiary and no one else, including any health care provider or pharmacy.
That would put all the Medical Billing clerks out of work; sorry about that. If any insurance companies or if Medicare think they can get the average citizen to somehow comply with their idiotic Medical Billing Code complexity, they can try; but the citizenry are not going to put up with any of that nonsense.
But ... but ... but, Insurance Companies might go out of business! Well, no shuckin', Sherlock; they're intended, by Obamacare, to go out of business anyway. If they can't abandon the codes and do a decent business, that's fine; someone out there will find a way to satisfy the need, in a free and open health insurance market.
In the meantime, Doctors and Patients might renew their old relationship, and do business with each other more directly, simply and cheaply. Some doctors might even return to those practices of yesteryear, when doctors practiced out of their homes, and made house calls, without all those extra office expenses.
Medicare itself could be eliminated, over time, if the suggestion to Kill Social Security were adopted. As in Social Security, no one currently retired and receiving benefits would be affected in any way; but no one new would pay into or receive benefits from it. Over time, like all the existing beneficiaries, Social Security, and Medicare along with it, would simply die of old age.
The key is to legislate to make all health insurance, regardless of who pays for it, the property of the patient-beneficiary, with claims paid solely to patient-beneficiaries. Do that, and, buddabing, buddabang, buddaboom, no more Health Care Billing Codes to deal with.
These suggestions are probably too simple for the elites to think of. But if someone picks it up and runs with it, he will have a lot of support, and if he makes it work, he will be a real American Hero.
But, what about VA? Well, we can Fix VA by covering Congress, the President and the Court with it. Buddabing, buddabang, buddaboom; we've fixed all the VA problems.
Very simple; nothing to it.
