On the loss of any sense of Principle, and the point of no return.
Unconstitutional and Invalid Separation of Church and State.
We have already talked about the Constitutional illegitimacy and therefore invalidity of the Supreme Court established "Principle" of Separation of Church and State. It is nothing more than a case law precedent. It is a "Principle" awaiting nullification by a President or a Congress, or both, as part of a program to bring the American government back under the Constitution that all government officials swore to uphold in their oaths of office.
It's quite simple, really. In the 1947 Everson case, which, it may be argued, never should have reached the Supreme Court, the Court inverted the First Amendment Establishment Clause, changing the meaning of the word Establishment of religion to mean Aid of religion. From that point on, the government could not aid religion, and, from that point on, increasingly atheistic government was free to secularize society and drive religion from it's formerly prominent standing into the dark corners and recesses of American culture.
That, they have done, and that they continue to do, at an ever accelerating pace.
The affect of this, in the real world, is the government "Establishment" of a semi-official state religion of Atheism, in which the Christian public is increasingly forced, by law, to be, appear to be or pretend to be Atheist. Divorced from religion. The "Principle" is applied against individual citizens and commercial enterprises. Note well that the simple English of the Establishment clause puts two restrictions on the American Government, and no one else.
Congress
shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; ...
The American government cannot:
- Establish an official state religion.
- Interfere with anyone's free exercise of their religion.
Very simple; nothing to it. In actual applicaiton, it is now upside down, and the restrictions are on us, not the government. The government now dictates religion to us.
The Valid Preexisting Principle of Separation of Church and State.
Objects, living creatures and men have a "nature" that defines what they are and how they behave. The "laws" that determine what things are and how they behave is called Natural Law. Thomas Aquinas held that, although things themselves were not eternal, the Natural Laws that defined and naturally controlled them were indeed eternal, established by the Divine Author of Nature.
Ecclesial Law is established through Religion to guide the moral and social conduct of men. I submit that the Moral Law as handed on by Christianity is absolutely compatible with the Natural Law. In Aquinas' division or separation between Ecclesial and Secular laws of men, Secular Law holds no authority over the Moral Law, except that the Secular Law should never force citizen violation of it. The laws of the State (Government) should be limited to ensuring the Common Good, peace and tranquility, and the common defense.
Whenever the laws of the State force men to violate the Natural Law, there is a danger that they also violate Moral Law, which is synchronous with the Natural Law. Politics aims at a higher good than the family, which is the primal social unit. While each family may have it's "black sheep", many families of a like ethos in a social unit have need of a higher multi-family authority; therefore, the real need for politics, and, government, hopefully of the representative variety.
Before the Reformation, secular government stayed out of ecclesial law, and ecclesial government stayed out of secular law. The common ground between them was the observable and reasonable Natural Law; religion held authority over Moral Law, and secular laws, where needed, tried to be guided by the Natural Law. Religion would render unto Caesar that which was Caesar's, so long as the State would render unto God that which was God's. Unlike Judaism that gave birth to Christianity, Christianity never did involve itself with laws for conducting civil society.
Aquinas taught that secular politics must be limited in scope, arguing that human law is incapable of regulating every dimension of social life. The State should concentrate on the extremes - murder; robbery; invasion; treason; etc. - while encouraging (not through force) the virtues, best done by supporting religion, which promotes virtuous families.
Note well that Aquinas recognized tyrannical and unjust government, and that when such a tyrant assumed power unlawfully, or, a lawful ruler became a tyrant, citizens were justified in disobeying unjust laws or orders from the tyrant, and even overthrowing tyrannical government.
The Reformation wars brought about a brutal combination of Church and State, in which the Protestant noble ruler of a land became the ecclesial ruler as well. He who made the civil laws also made the religious laws. That situation was precisely what the American Pilgrims and Colonists sought to avoid; the whole original idea of America was to go back to the natural separation between civil and ecclesial authorities.
Hence, the First Amendment.
American Government Opposing Natural Law.
That brings us to what we see today. Of our two major Political Parties, the Marxocrat Party is completely and totally Marxist, which is to say, absolutely opposed to the Constitution of the United States. You cannot name a single Marxist notion that is not part of the Marxocrat Party agenda, and that is not opposed to the Declaration and the Constitution. From collectivization and redistribution, to labor unions, to progressive income taxes, to wage controls, to price controls, to profit controls, to Socialism, to Big Government, to unlimited human behavior control, to the elimination of the free market, to centralized banking, to government controlled education, to anti-Christianity, to a totally controlled economy and a totally controlled press and publishing industry. And it just goes on and on, ant there is no end to it. The Government governs everything.
The Republicrat Party opposes none of that, in any real world practical way. They cooperate with it. They don't see any of it as un-American at all. Nor do they see their own failure to oppose it as un-American.
The Libertarian Party, smaller than the other two, seeks only economic and political Conservatism, emphasizing a hands-off, don't touch attitude toward all the radical violations of the Moral Law, all of which are also radical violations of the Natural Law. Don't look at it, don't speak of it, just leave it alone. That, of course, would be against their religion, if they had a real religion. But they cannot have a real religion.
The twin philosophical problems the Libertarians face are, precisely,
- they cannot call themselves Christians or Jews and stand aside to allow evil to grow and actually predominate in their culture; and,
- they cannot call themselves enlightened, or men of science, and stand aside and allow obvious violations of Natural Law to actually predominate in their culture.
What they may call themselves is lukewarm neutral bystanders, idlers and mere spectators.
Depravity reigns supreme.
We have already established in other webpages herein that there is no Constitutional basis for any Political Party in America, and that the Political Parties, unconstitutional though they may be, wield more authoritative political power than the Three Constitutional Branches of Government combined. All of the moral degenerates pictured above are, to some degree, owned and controlled by one of the unconstitutional Political Parties we're talking about. And through those unconstitutional Parties, they are all owned and controlled by the unseen oligarchs and crony capitalists, industrialists and bankers, entities like the chamber of commerce and even foreign interests, who actually own the Parties. Not We the People; not by a long shot.
Well, Trump may be an exception; it may be that nobody owns him. But he has flipped on so many issues and changed Parties so many times that even he may not know where he stands on anything at any moment in time.
Pick a moral depravity; any moral depravity.
Go ahead. Pick one, see if the Marxocrat Party doesn't actually sponsor it and champion it and defend it to the death.
Note well that in every single case, they will charge believing Christians and/or Jews of trying to impose their morality on the country, and that that is a flagrant lie. In every single case, the moral depravity they sponsor and champion and defend to the death is not in the constitution, and out of scope, and it would be unconstitutional to restrict it in federal law, and no one ever even tried to do that. They are liars. That's what Marxists do. It's in their job description.
It is they, not us, who use unconstitutional means to impose the moral depravity on the whole country, through the courts, which they load up with the kinds of depraved, disgusting degenerates you see pictured above. Or, they use any of the unconstitutional Soviets (Administrative Bureaucracies) listed in the Cut the Spending pages to pass another unconstitutional, unrepresentative, unlegislated "regulation" with full force of law behind it. Signed by some nameless, faceless, unelected, unaccountable petty bureaucrat. Or, they use an unconstitutional Executive Order, or Executive Action, or Executive Memo, or Executive Email, or Execution Head Nod to do it and get it done.
And the Republicrats cooperate in a bipartisan way. And the Libertarians don't look.
Go ahead; pick your depravity, and see if these things are not true.
- Aborting people, by the millions.
- "Harvesting" organs from living babies before the abortion is complete.
- "Harvesting" organs from living patients in hospitals all over America, since the "redefinition of death" from the former absence of a heartbeat, to the current "brain activity" line on an oscilloscope. While the heart is still beating.
- Special legal rights for sexual perverts and deviates of various description.
- Redefinition of marriage to be other than between one man and one woman.
- Special legal rights for multiple imagined-into-being "genders" other than male and female.
- Forcing private citizens to buy things they do not wish to buy.
- Forcing private citizens to sell things or provide services they do not wish to sell or provide.
- Forcing private employers to provide "benefits" they do not wish to provide.
- Forcing private citizens, private businesses and Churches to do things in violation of their religious belief.
- Assisted suicide, or, euthanasia.
- Eugenics.
- Forcing people into close company with people they prefer to avoid.
- Promoting the advance of the social and legal acceptance of sodomy in foreign lands as a matter of official foreign policy.
I'm not going to try to do a complete, exhaustive list here; you get the idea. You name the moral depravity or the radical abuse of Nature, and you may rest assured the Marxocrat Party will be behind it, the Republicrat Party will oppose it weakly and then cave, and the Libertarian Party will be disinterested.
Have we hit the point of no return?
Probably. I don't see us making it through the 2016 election and another successful change of administrations. More than Political Parties need to be eliminated, and that is no small task. "Lame Duck" administrations need to be eliminated, too. We should do what other countries do in that area; when the votes are tallied and the election called, the losers leave office and the winners assume office. No more official actions in office after losing an election. Look at all the terrorists and criminals pardoned by Clinton before he left office. You ain't seen nothin' yet.
The Obamunists and the Marxocrats are just getting up steam. They are destroying us on so many different and divergent fronts, and in so many ways, and from so many angles, and they're just getting started.
The question is, do we love God enough, and do we love America enough?
I really don't know. His will be done.

I disagree. Most of your Christian Bible came from the Jews, and the Catholic Church threw none of it out. Jesus Himself was a Jew. The only parts of the "Old Law" the Church abrogated were those pertaining to circumcision, diet, ritual washings and so forth, as from the First Council decisions (Acts 15:20; 29; Acts 21:25; and elsewhere).
As for Western Culture morality, it is, definitively, Judao-Christian, including the Old Testament Ten Commandments as a starting point.
Would you take all the Old Testament readings out of the Mass?
Christianity is what gave birth to America, but you will never get away from the fact that what America, and Christians, consider to be "moral" is what comes out of Judao-Christian morality.
